Our favourite spots
“How hard it is to escape from places. However carefully one goes, they hold you – you leave little bits of yourself fluttering on the fences…” Katherine Mansfield
These are the spots that hold onto us…
Anca: ” The Aarhus School of Business (ASB) is definitely my number one. I love the fact that ASB is not only about going to class, you can have your breakfast in Plug Inn. Also, you can meet your colleagues and friends at the sofas or in the library. If you want some privacy, there is also a silent zone where you can use computers. The best is on Thursday evening when you just go down the stairs and you have great fun in Klubben, the university’s disco.”
Daniel: “The University Park (in sunny weather) and the numerous pubs.”

NATURE'S ART: The beauty with so much rain in Aarhus, is that rainbows will eventually appear over unexpected spots. PIC: Vanessa
Mavi: “The nature, green parks, and water everywhere!”
Mihail: “The City Centre and Mindeparken. Actually, Mindeparken combines the great opportunity to relax, lie on the perfectly maintained grass and prepare a BBQ. According to me, this pictures a great Sunday afternoon.
In the City Centre, you can find lots of small cafés, good bars and so on. Occasionally, there are open-air live concerts which could also get your attention.”
Mohit: “Risskov Beach, Fidel’s Bar…”
Sam: “Moesgård Museum and the Deer Park.
Moesgård Museum is merged with Odder Museum and Viking Museum. The legacy of Viking Age left a deep impression on me. The best preserved bog body from Iron Age Europe is one of the reasons why I love Moesgård Museum; it’s a miracle that the body in bog could be preserved so well.
As for Deer Park, I really enjoy the feeling of embracing nature:
The integration of Deer park and forests remove the barriers in our heart that we are not really in nature. To take a close at deer running, resting and eating, I will feel carefree.
Sarkis: ”The river-side in the City Centre is really nice. I also like to sit for hours at Café Baresso with a book or a magazine. I used to go to the one on the walking street by the bridge, where you have a view of the church.”
Vanessa: “The “Love Café” in the City Centre, where you are surrounded by interesting books, fascinating people and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. I also love the forest near the North Beach: so green and serene. And, of course, Quiz Night Mondays at the Sherlock Holmes’ Pub, where you always meet new people.”
Vitaly: “The Student House. It’s a great spot to study during the day with a cup of coffee. At night, there is always something fun going on regardless of what day of the week it is: international nights, concerts, parties. A perfect place for both studying and relaxing.”
